McKinney – A planned sewer pipeline project through a McKinney museum and wildlife sanctuary is closer to construction.

The North Texas Municipal Water District on Tuesday secured approval to proceed with the line through part of the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary.

Tyler – Thieves who ransacked a home in Tyler were so thorough they even stole the family dog's treats. Police are seeking the burglars who broke into Erika Velazquez's home.

The thieves grabbed items that also included electronics, her husband's wedding ring, and her children's Christmas presents.

Some police officers who responded to the burglary adopted the spirit of the season. They used their own money to buy replacement gifts.

Idabel, OK – New details have emerged in the death of 15-yaer-old Sharonda Bronner of Paris, and the lone suspect, a 16-yaer-old boy from Idabel.

According to Oklahoma authorities a gun was found in the boy's grandmother's home. Witnesses say he was seen earlier Monday with the gun. Officials then linked the gun found in the home with the bullet used in Bronner's murder.

The boy's name has not been released. It's unclear if he could be charged as an adult for first degree murder.

Rockwall County – A Quinlan ISD instructor is out on bond, charged with engaging in a sexual relationship with one of his students.

The Greenville Herald Banner reports 28-year-old Kevian Lawrence Carr has been charged with both sexual assault of a child and an improper relationship between educator/student, which allegedly took place in June.

He was a life skills teacher and assistant volleyball coach at Ford High School, plus a 2008 Employee of the Year nominee for the district.

Commerce – A not guilty plea has been entered to an evading arrest charge.

Christopher Alex Myers, of Garland, entered the plea Monday. A tentative trial date was set for July 12.

Myers is alleged to have fled from a Commerce Police office in August. The vehicle which he was driving was said to be used as a deadly weapon.

Evading arrest is a state jail felony punishable by maximum sentence of up to two years in jail.

Commerce – A wrongful death suit filed by the family of a slain Commerce code enforcement officer may be headed to federal court.

A notice of removal was filed in the case Tuesday. It was not immediately clear whether the plaintiffs or the defendants had made the filing.

The City of Commerce has denied all allegations in the suit and has also claimed sovereign immunity from liability.

Commerce – Commerce ISD Superintendent Blake Cooper has been given approval to appoint a selection committee as part of the district's Hall of Honor induction process.

Board members Monday voted to proceed with the selection, which they feel is a great way to honor former students, faculty and staff of CISD.

The inaugural selection will include two students from CISD, one student from Norris School and two faculty/staff members. All inductees will be honored during next year's homecoming football game.

Wolfe City – It will be another ten months before five people from across North Texas will face a jury in connection to a Wolfe City oil and gas fraud.

Donald Joseph Dean, of Tyler; Michael Day Lamont, of Frisco; Carl Tinsley Ratner, of Dallas; and Kevin Michael Hays, of Euless; have all received indictments for engaging in organized criminal activity, acting as an unregistered dealer and selling unregistered securities. Chad Michael Hays, of McKinney has also been charged with several counts.

Kaufman County – A Kaufman County man is given prison time after his probation for intoxicated assault is revoked.

Billy Jack Richardson, of Terrell, was placed on probation in 2005 and sentenced to a term in jail for pleading guilty to being intoxicated at the time of a traffic accident which injured two people.

Idabel – After several days of interviews and forensic testing, Oklahoma authorities have arrested who they believe responsible in the death of Paris teenager Sharonda Bronner.

Bronner's body was found last Monday in the bathroom of the Idabel Community Center with a single gunshot wound to the head.

Arrested on Tuesday was a 16-year-old boy from Idabel High School whom authorities claim knew Bronner.
