COMMERCE - Texas A&M University-Commerce has released their fire and crime statistics for the 2010 calendar year.
According to the report, last year police were called to more burglaries on campus than the previous two years combined with 17 offenses. There were two aggravated assaults and one reported forcible sex offense, the same as in calendar year 2009.
While UPD made a total of 28 arrests in 2009 – most alcohol related – officers made 12 total arrests in 2010.
Only two fires were reported on campus in 2010. An overheated outlet resulted in a burned mattress at Whitley Hall and caused $225 in property damage.
