This week on Movie Picks with Alice Reese, she reviews The Hateful Eight, Daddy's Home, and Carol.
This is Quentin Tarantino's latest film, starring Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Samuel L. Jackson. Alice says you need to have an iron stomach (as is usual with Tarantino movies), but it's worth the trip to the theater.
This was definitely not Alice's favorite Will Ferrell movie, and says it's a waste of both Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. She does however think Hannibal Burress was great. It's got a slow pace, but if you like raunchy Will Ferrell movies, you'll probably be into this.
This film stars Cate Blanchett as Carol Ard, a woman going through a divorce and finding love with a shop-girl played by Rooney Mara. Alice really enjoyed this movie with it's 1950's style.
That's it for this week's edition of Movie Picks, but come back next week for more movies to check out in the New Year. You can always hear Alice every Friday during All Things Considered at 4:50 and 5:50 or online at ketr.org by searching Movie Picks with Alice Reese.
