This week on Movie Picks with Alice Reese, she reviews The Last Witch Hunter, Crimson Peak, Jem and the Holograms, and Rock the Kasbah.
The Last Witch Hunter stars Vin Diesel as Kaulder, the only thing that stands between humanity and the most horrifying witches the world has ever known. Alice thought it fell short on story, but the cinematography really caught her eye. Sir Michael Caine, Elijah Wood, and Rose Leslie also have substantial roles in the movie.
Crimson Peak is the latest movie from Guillermo del Toro, who brought us Pan's Labyrinth in 2006. Mia Wasikowska stars in this gothic thriller alongside Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Hunnam. Alice highly recommends this movie, and not just because the acting is fine, also because the production design was amazing.
Alice didn't get to the theaters to see these next two movies, but she has heard some tidbits that might help you make a decision about them. Jem and the Holograms stars Aubrey Peeples as a girl with a dream of becoming a pop star. Rock the Kasbah stars Bill Murray as a manager who loses his client but miraculously finds a new voice.
