This week on Movie Picks with Alice Reese, she reviews Sicario, Captive, and Meet the Patels.
Sicariostars Emily Blunt as a Pheonix-based FBI agent who gets involved in a mysterious government task force dealing with the drug war between the United States and Mexico. Alice said this movie seems like it might be going in the usual way, but it's a story with depth.
Captiveis based on the true story of escaped prisoner Brian Nichols and his captive Ashley Smith. David Oyelowo and Kate Mara star, but all-in-all Alice wasn't too impressed by this movie. It was at the same time a little over-embellished and still not interesting enough to hold her attention or interest very long.
Meet the Patels is a cute movie that looks like it is someone's family home video. It stars Ravi, a young Indian-American man whose parents want him to get married, and who sets out to make it happen. Alice really enjoyed this movie and thought it was clever and original.
