A&M-Commerce picked fourth in preseason soccer poll

The A&M-Commerce Soccer team was picked to finish fourth in the new look six-team LSC. The Lions received 42 points and one first place vote in the poll voted on league head coaches, sport information directors and local media.

West Texas A&M is favored to win the league with 10 first place votes and 84 points overall; to have a nine point lead over second place Midwestern State. Midwestern State received three first place votes. Angelo State was third with 71 points and one first place vote. Texas Woman's was fifth just one point behind A&M-Commerce and Eastern New Mexico was picked to finish sixth with 23 points.

A&M-Commerce will open the season with two road games against Fort Lewis (Colo.) and Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction, Colorado. The home opener for the Lions will be Friday September 13th against Harding University (Ark.). Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at Lion Soccer Field.

The Lions will look to qualify for the four-team conference tournament at the end of the season. The four-team tournament will be held at the regular season champion on November 8-10.
