Another candidate files for CISD Board

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – Gabe Wittkopf has become the fourth candidate to file for the Commerce School Board. Wittkopf, seeking the position of Place 2, will oppose Elva Resendez in this May's municipal elections.

Also having filed are incumbents Bob McLeroy and Russell Armstrong for Places 1 and 3, respectively.

Five candidates are currently in the running for the Commerce City Council.

Quay Throgmorton is unopposed in his quest for a second straight term as mayor. Incumbent for Place 2 Billie Biggerstaff is being challenged by Douglas Rohrabaugh while Sue Davis will face incumbent Place 4 Bob Monday.

Filing continues through March 8. Commerce residents in May will also decide on a number of proposed changes to the city's charter.
