Commerce – Texas A&M University-Commerce continues to make progress in improving the physical nature of campus.
Earlier this semester, officials announced plans to provide a chilled water loop and stadium seating, and recently completed installation of safer, more pedestrian friendly crosswalks.
The university is now working to begin the next phase of its walking mall. The project will require abandoning a portion of West Neal Street between the Science Building and Student Center, similar to what was done to a portion of Stonewall Street.
Officials are to bring plans before the Commerce City Council next Tuesday to ensure vehicle traffic will flow properly.
Eventually, A&M-Commerce will abandon the section of West Neal that runs between the current Music and Agricultural Sciences buildings.
