Reno – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission has approved approximately $3 million for several recreational trail projects across the state, including one in Reno.
The city has received about $87,000 for a new half mile asphalt rail-trail, plus signs and bridge railing to extend the Trail de Paris.
The Reno project is one of 25 being funding by the state. The National Recreational Trails Fund comes from a portion of the federal gas tax generated by the sale of gasoline for off-road recreational vehicles such as dirt bikes and all-terrain vehicles.
