Delta County Is Under Burn Ban

Enloe Volunteer Fire Fighters have been fighting grass fires along with several other volunteer fire departments in Delta County.

Delta County Judge Jason Murray enacted an emergency burn ban effective Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017 at 3 p.m.  Local volunteer fire departments have been responding to several grass fires combined with dry conditions created the need for the ban. According to the declaration a person commits an offense if he or she burns a combustible material outside of an enclosure which serves to contain all flames and/or sparks, or orders such burning by others.

An offense under this Order is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine up to $500.

This order is effective for a period not longer than seven days, but can be renewed on or before the 7th day, or until further Order of the Commissioners' Court of Delta County, Texas;

It will be reported when the ban is lifted.
