A Grayson County grand jury has indicted former Tom Bean Mayor Pro Tem Lonnie Jones on charges stemming from the April shooting of two dogs.
The Herald Democrat reported that Jones claimed he was chasing one of two dogs that got onto his property and attacked his cat. Jones admitted to shooting one dog on his property and chasing the second from his truck.
Police say Jones fired several shots down the road from his property, in the direction of people. He was indicted on two counts of deadly conduct and one count of animal cruelty.
