Gifts of Love donations being taken

Looking for a project for the family this Christmas? This is a wonderful opportunity to share the spirit of giving with the family.

Lamar County Human Resources is now providing hot, nutritious meals for Delta County senior adults each weekday at the Delta Civic Center through the Meal A Day program.  There is also a meal delivery route.

Each year, those on the route are invited to participate in the “Gifts of Love” program where they can make a list of needs and wishes, and someone in the community chooses to provide those things for them.  Cooper Home Health has a small tree in their foyer with cards on it that are ready to be selected.  The people may be adopted at this time and the gifts are to be returned to Cooper Home Health along with the card no later than Dec. 5, 2014.Those who would prefer to make donations may donate generic, unisex, new items such as blankets, robes, toothbrushes, soaps, books, etc.

Often this is sometimes the only contact these homebound or disabled Delta County residents have each day; many times these will be the only Christmas gifts they receive.

There are only a few cards, so please stop by 51 North Side Square and pick one up today.
