From humble beginnings in the Greenville area, music artist Brandon Callies has gone on to make a name for himself in the local music scene.

Callies has been a go-to player for fellow Texas artists over the years, and was the singer for the now defunct Greenville/Dallas band Black Tie Vendetta. More recently, Brandon has been writing and singing for his own folk/rock group Brandon Callies Band, and the newly formed, harder rocking outfit, Screaming Thieves.

During a recent tour stop in the area, Brandon and percussionist for Brandon Callies Band, Adrian Vorhies, dropped in the KETR Studios to talk about music, Brandon's memories of early life in Northeast Texas, their take on public radio, and more.

For more about the artist, visit brandoncalliesband.com, or the Brandon Callies Band Facebook.

Notably Texan is heard weekdays from Noon to 3pm on KETR.
