Independence celebrated, veterans honored in Sulphur Springs

For Sulphur Springs, the July 4 holiday was particularly special this weekend with the unveiling of the Hopkins County Veterans Memorial and newly renovated downtown square.

The large gathering Saturday was welcomed by the Master of Ceremonies Eddie Northcutt. Citizens also enjoyed several vendors and the new illuminated water feature.

Traditional fireworks and sounds of the Northeast Texas Symphony League accompanied the celebration.
