Injuries reported in Highway 24 wreck in Delta County

DELTA COUNTY - Update at 6:40 p.m. Trooper Dustin Hunter tells KETR’s Cindy Roller that a Monday afternoon accident along Highway 24 in Delta County involved two vehicles.

Two Paris residents were injured when the driver of a SUV lost control and overturned while traveling north on the highway near Cooper at around 4 p.m. The vehicle hit a sign and landed on its side. Both the driver and the passenger were transported by ambulance to Paris, but seemed to be in fair condition.

Trooper Hunter reported the Yukon vehicle rear-ended local resident Charles McMurtree, who was turning into his residence, prior to losing control. McMurtree was not injured.

Two people have been injured in a one vehicle rollover accident along Highway 24 just west of Cooper.

There were no immediate details on the extent of the victim’s injuries. Traffic was moving slow through the area as emergency vehicles are working the scene.
