Leonard Alcohol-Sales Question, Bonham Council Seat on Fannin Co. Ballots

Leonard voters will decide whether local stores can sell beer and wine.

In Bonham, there will be elections for wards no. 1 and 5 of the city council, while a special election will decide ward no. 2. Only in ward no. 1 is the election contested; Antonio (Tony) Rodriguez and John Burnett are running for that seat. 
Also, the Bonham School Board Trustee places 6 and 7 are open. Randy Pendergrass is running unopposed for the former, while Chad Burnett and Jered Hudson are running for the latter. 

Places 1 and 5 of the Leonard city council are up for grabs. David M. Norman is running against incumbent Billy Grimes for Place 1. For Place 5, Jim Basham, Dion M. Ponius, Carla Harris and Kenneth Littleton, Jr., are running for an open seat. In Place 3, incumbent Bob Pannkuk, Sr. is running unopposed. 

Citizens of Leonard will also vote on two propositions. The first is proposing the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only. The second is the abolition of local sales and sue taxes for tax relief and authorization of a local sales and use tax for maintenance and repair of municipal streets. 

The Leonard Independent School District's board of trustees has four places open. Ashley Newman, Angela Wrenn Sadler, Jack Bonds, Karen Medders, Robert Damesworth, Kanyun Reagan, Liz Johnson, Scott Blackerby, Amy Boggs, Kevin Brockus, Tyler McCarley and Kim Laird are running. Voters may select one, two, three or four names. 

There are four candidates running for open Honey Grove Independent School District seats. They are Joey Rickman Jr., David Horner, Kevin Mayberry and Caleb Tindel.

Place 1, 2 and 5 are up for grabs on the Whitewright city council. Sarah Beth Owen, George Fenner and Mike Martin are running for Place 1. Larry G. Jordan and Bart R. Bodine are running for Place 2. And Ruby J. Howell, Rick Magers, Gregory Owens and Brian K. Hawkins are running for Place 5. There will also be a special election for Place 4, for which John Simon is running unopposed. 

Three candidates are running for two seats on the Whitewright Independent School District board of trustees. They are Tricia Danielle Kennemur Bryan, Rachel Clouse and Kelly Selman. 

There are three seats available on the Trenton Independent School District board. The four candidates are Henry L. Baker, Tommy L. Green, Allen M. Lambright and Jo Anne Reagan Duncan. 

For the Savoy Independent School District, three candidates are running for two positions. They are Joe Gilbert, John Keen and Dan Cooper.
