Lions Club 2014 Christmas Parade of Lights Highlights

The Annual Lions Club Christmas Parade of Lights was held last Friday night to a large crowd of spectators. It traveled from Buford Park down Connally to Celebration Plaza and back Church Street to Houston.

The 2014 Winners were recently announced. Overall winner went to “Thomas the Train” sponsored by the City of Sulphur Springs and Mayor’s Award went to the Grinch-themed Discount Wheel and Tire float.

For the Small Business Category: Discount Wheel and Tire was first, Fix & Feed was second and Janet Martin Realty took third.

In the School Division Como-Pickton Elementary was first place.

In the Non-Profit Category: Winterfield Baptist Church was top winner, Chapel hill Baptist Church was second and Hopkins County Dairy Festival Queen Maddie Rater was third.

The event downtown Sulphur Springs included activities for all-ages with a style show, pony rides, snow slide and white tiger display.
