Longtime Commerce businessman dies

Commerce, TX –

Commerce businessman Jack Chapin died last Friday at the age of 89. Funeral services were scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Commerce, with burial in Sulphur Springs.

Chapin launched his real estate firm in 1963. He began his Commerce business career in 1947. Among his interests were a small chain of variety stores and a bed and breakfast.
