A record-breaking weekend for one Lion didn't lead to victory for the Texas A&M University-Commerce Lions volleyball team, who lost to the Angelo State University Rambelles and the Tarleton State University TexAnns after leading two sets to none in each game.

Jordan Neal, senior setter for the Lions, broke the career assist record in A&M-Commerce volleyball history with her 27th assist against Angelo State. Neal had 45 total assists Friday night against the Rambelles and added 63 assists in Saturday's loss to the TexAnns. Her career total is now 3,925, surpassing Melissa Staiger, who had held the record of 3,843 since 2000. Neal gets her first chance to pass the 4,000 assists mark on Wednesday, Oct. 23 when the Lions host Texas Woman's University at 7 pm in the Field House.

The Lions led two sets to none in both games, but the Lions allowed both the Rambelles and the TexAnns to climb back and win straight sets to win the matches 3-2. The Lions fall to 4-5 in Lone Star Conference play, and 14-6 overall. A&M-Commerce now sits at sixth in the LSC behind West Texas A&M (19-3, 9-0 in LSC), Angelo State (15-6, 7-3), Texas Woman's (14-7, 6-3), Tarleton State (11-8, 5-3) and Texas A&M-Kingsville (12-11, 4-4).

The Lions host Texas Woman's on Oct. 23, and then travels to Ouachita Baptist (Oct. 26) and Southeastern Oklahoma State (Oct. 29) in back-to-back road games before returning to the Field House Oct. 31 in a game against Midwestern State.
