New head football coach for Quinlan ISD

Quinlan – There's a new head football coach in Quinlan. Former Garland High offensive coordinator Derek Alford takes over for former coach Billy Butler. Alford helped lead Garland to a 10-1 record in 2002, and a district championship. It was the first for Garland since 1974. Butler, who led the Panthers to 4 playoff appearances in the past six seasons, will stay on as athletic director for Quinlan schools.
