NOT Just Another Song and Dance Man

D.C. Bloom was once a speech writer for Fortune 500 Companies and the FBI, but found inspiration to relocate to Texas and refocus his words into songs after a visit to The Kerrville Folk Festival.

He has persevered against the odds, having recently undergone double bypass heart surgery, but still retains his wit and positive attitude. Working with some of Austin's finest, Bloom is finalizing his latest album Just Another Song And Dance Man set to release in early January of '17. Notably Texan caught up with the singer/songwriter to talk about the new record.

Born in Dallas, Texas, Matt moved to the Sulphur Springs area in 1990 and settled in Commerce shortly thereafter. Having dreamed of working in radio since childhood, he began working at KETR while taking Radio-Television courses at Texas A&M University-Commerce in 1993. Matt has transitioned from a part-time worker and pupil of KETR, to the station’s Chief Announcer/Producer and supervisor of student broadcasters.
