COMMERCE - Chief Kerry Crews tells KETR that three suspects are sought in what started as a fist fight and led to shots fired.
“A couple of blows were swung, one guy pulled a knife and then the gun came out. Two or three shots were fired, striking the victim one time,” Crews said.
The victim was taken to Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville where he underwent surgery and remained at last report. His condition was pretty serious, according to Crews.
“[the bullet] struck him, I believe, in the right hip and deflected off of a bone and went into his abdominal area. It deflected up and then I think back down and it ended up on the left lower quadrant of the abdominal area.”
No names were released and no additional information was immediately available.
