The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has scheduled the meeting for 7 p.m. in the community room of Farmers Electric Cooperative, 2000 Interstate Highway 30 East.

A public meeting this evening in Greenville will provide locals to weigh in on the prospect of a proposed cement plant on the east side of the city.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has scheduled the meeting for 7 p.m. in the community room of Farmers Electric Cooperative, 2000 Interstate Highway 30 East.

Bell Concrete Company of Sulphur Springs has applied to build a concrete batch plant at 3101 Interstate 30 East, next to the Texas Department of Transportation Paris District Office, located near the intersection of Lamar Street and Hunt County Road 3101.

Bell Concrete has applied for an Air Quality Standard Permit for the plant, which would emit air contaminants including small particles of aggregate, cement, road dust.

The TCEQ has made a preliminary decision to grant the permit because it meets all applicable rules.

However, the TCEQ scheduled the a public hearing due to the proximity of the site to the Greenville Animal Hospital and a residential neighborhood a few hundred yards away.
