Rain, freezing rain possible Monday

Temperatures slightly warmer than previously forecast have resulted in widespread rainfall, rather than sleet, throughout much of Northeast Texas. However, freezing rain remains possible this morning.

Warning statements for most Northeast Texas counties have been downgraded to a Winter Weather Advisory. Collin, Delta, Fannin, Franklin, Hopkins, Hunt, Kaufman, Lamar, Rains, Rockwall, Van Zandt, Wood and other counties in Northeast Texas are under a Winter Weather Advisory. Red River and Bowie Counties remain under a Winter Storm Warning.

Temperatures around the region are expected to hover around the freezing mark today, with highs in the low to mid-30s.

The National Weather Service advises that freezing temperatures are most likely before 9 a.m., west of a Rockwall-Greenville-Commerce-Cooper-Clarksville line.

Rain and freezing rain are possible, with icy conditions making driving extremely hazardous. The Texas Department of Transportation has highway conditionmapsavailable to the public, but be advised that conditions can change rapidly during storms.

No school closures have been reported to KETR.
