Hunt County – There's still more counting to do in Hunt County from the November 4 General Election. A recount of the ballots for the office of Hunt County Commissioner Precinct 1 began Friday. Hunt County Elections Administrator Mina Cook says the two teams of four election judges had to first sort out all the ballots according to polling place. The recount is the resume Monday. Mike Peirce, the Republican Challenger, sought the recount after he lost seat to Democrat Incumbent Kenneth Thornton by 11 votes out of more than 6,700 votes cast.
