Seela's Voice Shines on "Track You Down"

Austin singer-songwriter Seela
Seela Misra
Austin singer-songwriter Seela

Seela is an example of what makes Austin music so great. She moved to Texas from Canada for a change of pace more than 20 years ago, and was drawn into the scene thanks to the warm welcome she received from surrounding music makers.

She's been involved with jazz bands TOrcH and The Jazz Pharaohs, and Seela regularly collaborates with some of Texas' finest, such as Matt The Electrician and Bob Schneider. Her latest solo record, Track You Down, highlights her unique voice in a series of songs focused on faith. Notably Texan caught up with Seela for a chat from her Austin home.

Find more about the artist on her website. Listen to Notably Texan weekdays from 11am to 2pm on KETR.

Born in Dallas, Texas, Matt moved to the Sulphur Springs area in 1990 and settled in Commerce shortly thereafter. Having dreamed of working in radio since childhood, he began working at KETR while taking Radio-Television courses at Texas A&M University-Commerce in 1993. Matt has transitioned from a part-time worker and pupil of KETR, to the station’s Chief Announcer/Producer and supervisor of student broadcasters. A familiar voice of 88-9 KETR, Matt has hosted such shows as The Late Nite Lion, and can currently be heard as host of Notably Texan.
