The 7-piece Dallas outfit have dedicated themselves to upholding the traditions of their musical influences, such as Bob Wills and Milton Brown. Their renditions of classics by their idols flow together perfectly with the band's originals on their sophomore release "Wanted In Texas."

Shoot Low Sheriff are set to take the stage as headliners of the Boyd Music Festival. Honoring native sons Jim and Bill "Cowboy Rambler" Boyd, who are renowned as founding fathers of the western swing genre, The Boyd Music Festival features music from 2-10pm Saturday Sept. 12th on the Downtown Ladonia square.

The Singer, guitarist and trombone player for Shoot Low Sheriff, Erik Swanson, checked in with Notably Texan to discuss the upcoming gig, his love for western swing, and much more.

More about Shoot Low Sheriff can be found on their website, and details about the Sept. 12th Boyd Music Festival is here.

Notably Texan is heard weekdays from Noon - 3pm on KETR.
