Texas A&M University-Commerce volleyball added another player of the week honor this week with libero Michaela Spicer earning Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors, announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.

This week marks the second straight week in which a Lion has earned a player of the week honor.

Spicer shares the honor with Kelsey Raglin of Tarleton State. This is the second time in Spicer's career that she has earned LSC Player of the Week. The junior earned LSC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 30, 2012.

Spicer continued her good defensive play for the Lions last week, posting a 5.5 digs per set average. The average is two full digs over her season average. The 24 digs versus Tarlerton State was the second time in five matches that the Katy native had recorded 20 digs in a match.

With the LSC weekly honor, A&M-Commerce continues to be one of the top all-around programs in the conference through the 2013-14 athletic season, racking up 24 Player of the Week honors thus far while all seven A&M-Commerce fall sports have had at least one LSC weekly honors.

Spicer and her Lion teammates head to Canyon for the LSC Tournament this week at West Texas A&M. The Lions face Tarleton State in the first round on Thursday at 5 p.m.
