Spirit of Giving Event Returns for Holidays

Spirit of Giving event grows more and more each year in Delta County.
Cooper Review

It is time for the Fourth Annual Spirit of Giving. This year it will be on Saturday, December 5 at 11 a.m. at the Delta County Civic Center.

“This community outreach program was started four years ago so that we might give back to the community that we love so much.  We will have stations set up for bicycles, toys, coats, stuffed stockings, blankets and household items,” said Amanda Sepulveda, organizer. “Each person who attends, adults and kids, will be given a set number of tickets and will then be able to purchase items with their tickets.”

The event will also be offering a free chili, stew and hot dogs with all the trimmings supper.

“Everything is free!” she added. Last year they had more donations and more volunteers than in previous years and thanks to generosity were able to give gifts and feed over 100 kids and adults.

If any church, business, organization or individual would like to donate new or gently used items, donate food, make a monetary donation or help serve, please contact Amanda Sepulveda at 903-438-6359 or asep4594@yahoo.com.

There is a storage facility available for those who would like to donate now or items may be dropped off at the Delta County Civic Center on Friday, December 4.
