Suspect still sought in now deadly incident

MINEOLA - The teenage victim of a hit-and-run Tuesday night in Wood County has died of his injuries.

15-year-old Jacob Mikal Burrell was a sophomore at Mineola High School.

He was reportedly walking along Highway 69 north of the city when he was struck. Authorities continue their search for the suspect vehicle, a late model white Chevrolet Avalanche.

A person of interest in the case has been located but no arrests had been made as of Wednesday night.
