Tomato Planting Time in NE Texas; Asparagus Is a Long-Term Project

Hunt County Master GardenerByron Chitwood says it is prime time for planting tomatoes.  He says the Celebrity variety is the most popular in Northeast Texas, but he recommends planting several varieties of tomatoes to get the best results.  Byron enjoys growing asparagus.  He says it takes about two years for an asparagus bed to produce results, but it will reseed itself every year with out having to be replanted.
