Dr. LaVelle Hendricks, Texas A&M University-Commerce associate professor of counseling, and also a Commerce school board member, discusses the Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) program taking place at Commerce High School this summer, in which students are reading "March With Me" by Rosalie Turner.  And LaVelle reminds us that the "Trust-Understand-Respect" rally, postponed in May, has been rescheduled and will take place at 10:45 a.m. Saturday in Commerce City Park.  The rally promotes good relations between minorities and police.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
