Update: Roads reopen following Tuesday flooding

HUNT COUNTY - A relatively dry and sunny day throughout Northeast Texas has allowed some flooded roadways to dry out and open back up to motorists.

TxDot is reporting there are no longer any closures in Hunt County, although water did remain over parts of FM 36 as of late Wednesday afternoon. In Hopkins County, FM 71 remained closed at the Sulphur River and a delay or detour was anticipated upon last check.

Rain is still possible for parts of the region with a 30 percent chance in effect for Wednesday night and a 20 percent chance Thursday.

A flood warning remained in effect for the Cowleech Fork Sabine River at Greenville affecting Hunt County and the South Fork Sabine River near Quinlan affecting Hunt and Rockwall counties.
