Use of homemade bombs reported in Paris

By Scott Harvey

Paris – Reports of shots fired in several Paris neighborhoods are believed to be pranksters using homemade explosive devices.

Police were called to the 1400 block of NE 15th street late Wednesday night where they found pieces of aluminum foil and household chemicals on the caller's front porch.

The items can be used in a mixture and placed in bottles to make small homemade bombs.

Police also received complaints from residents in the areas of Laurel Lane, Mahaffey Streets, and NE 5th street.

A suspect or potential suspects in the case are sought. Anyone with information can call the Paris Police Department or leave an anonymous tip with Lamar County Crime Stoppers at (903)785-tips.
