Community invited to CISD's Winter Arts Festival

Credit CISD students applaud during 2010 Winter Arts Festival

COMMERCE - Commerce ISD will showcase students in a celebration of the visual and performing arts December 8 at Commerce High School.

Superintendent Blake Cooper said the Winter Arts Festival has become an annual holiday tradition where the choirs, bands, theatre students and artists present their best works to parents and the community.

“Last year’s Festival was well received by the community and we hope it only grows through the years,” he said.

Equity Center officially files suit against State

AUSTIN - A coalition of more than 150 school districts has sued the state of Texas over a school funding system they say is unfair, inefficient and unconstitutional.

The coalition represents more than one in 10 Texas districts, including several local districts like Bonham, Commerce, Greenville and Paris.
