Hunt County Public Art, Debora Schubert Lytle

Derek Price of Greenshoot Media and Hunt County Public Art says the organization is accepting proposals for public art projects from local artists through Friday, September 29.  Hunt County Public Art pays the artists for the projects, which so far have included murals and sculptures.  One of the projects is a mural at the Hunt Regional Emergency Center in Commerce, a wildflower mural by Debora Schubert Lytle.

Drum Corps International

Chuck Berry's "Hail, Hail Rock and Roll" could also have been a tribute to drum corps, which Derek Price of Greenshoot Media says are growing in popularity beyond high-school and college bands.  A Drum Corps International performance is scheduled for Thursday, July 20 at the University of North Texas in Denton. Another performance is Monday, July 24 at Wildcat-Ram Stadium, Lake Highlands High School, in north Dallas.

Derek Price, the owner of Greenshoot Media in Commerce, recently produced a video for Hunt County Public Art using a drone. Derek is licensed to fly drones, and says the remote-controlled devices are becoming more and more practical in everyday life.


"Cargazing" column writer Derek Price says the Volkwagen Golf R he's currently driving looks like a mild-mannered math teacher's economy car, but underneath its unimposing exterior is an engine with 300 horsepower.  And Derek also recently drove the Ram Power Wagon, a mighty off-road pickup.

Derek Price, the author of the nationally syndicated "Cargazing" column, recently drove the new Ford Super Duty pickup truck, which he says is the first redesign of the truck in 18 years.  The Super Duty trucks are specifically designed for heavy towing. Derek is also involved with Hunt County Public Art, and reminds us that today (Friday, August 19) is the deadline for artists to submit a project proposal for next year.
