AUSTIN - There’s also been a shakeup in the race for the district two seat for State Senate, as Incumbent Senator Bob Deuell of Greenville is the only candidate on the May 29 ballot.
GREENVILLE - Filing continues through 6 p.m. George Alexander, of Greenville, will oppose District 2 State Representative Dan Flynn, of Van, after filing for the position Tuesday. No Democrats had filed for the post as of Thursday afternoon.
We’ve been reporting this week on the city council and school board races in our region, as Monday marked the filing deadline for the May 12 elections. Filing also came to a close Monday for area hospital board elections, scheduled for the same day.
The filing period for the May 12 elections brought numerous candidates to the field for area school board vacancies. Meanwhile, several other trustee races garnered no challenger, and some positions failed to attract any candidates.
