Commerce body identified

By Kevin Jefferies

Commerce – A decomposed body found last Saturday in Commerce has been identified. Officials were still waiting Thursday for further reports from the Dallas County Medical Examiner's office, but the investigation revealed that 16 year old Jackie Jones did not die from a homicide. A memorial service was held yesterday for Jones.

The body was found in a field near the intersection of Church and Chestnut Streets Saturday. The body was not immediately identifiable. Commerce Detective Pat Leber said all indications in the investigation showed Jones' death was not the result of homicide.
