Commerce – Two men are arrested, one of which is pepper sprayed, after gunshots were reportedly fired in Commerce on Sunday.
Dontae Crosby and Robert Fields were transported to the Commerce Police Department before begin taken to the Hunt County Jail.
An officer with Commerce Police was in the process of serving a warrant at the Crosswind Apartments behind Williams Motors when he heard the shots. The shots were not fired in any specific direction, and were unrelated to the warrant that was to be served. No injuries were reported.
A&M-Commerce Police provided assistance during the incident. According to Crime Information Office Jason Bone, Crosby was put in the back of the patrol vehicle but then started to try and kick out the door, forcing the A&M-Commerce officer to use pepper spray on him.
At last report, it was unclear if a gun was found in the vicinity of the shooting, but officers did locate some ammunition.
