Union Valley – Burning tires are to blame for a highly visible fire Tuesday in Hunt County. The Tuesday morning fire destroyed a structure near Union Valley, and created pillars of black smoke which could be seen for miles.
Hunt County Fire Marshal Richard Hill said the fire occurred at a location on County Road 2546 on the Anderton Grass Farm. The fire occurred inside a metal building with a wood frame structure, which housed a number of tires. The smoldering tires caused huge plumes of smoke to rise from the scene.
No injuries were reported and no cause for the fire was immediately determined.
