Commerce – A Honey Grove man was arrested following a vehicle chase which began in Commerce and reached speeds as high as 110 mph.
The suspect, whose name was not released, fled after officers attempted to stop him Thursday night for expired registration and an expired inspection sticker dating back to 2009. The suspect fled through city streets and then fled northbound on highway 50, but crashed into a culver and onto a fence post while attempting to turn at CR 4904. The suspect then fled on foot into a field but was captured after a brief pursuit.
Police would later learn the man had seven outstanding warrants out of Commerce PD. He was charged with evading arrest with a vehicle.
