– The State's Summer Nutrition Program takes up where the free and reduced school lunch program leaves off.
Any child age 18 and under can get a free lunch and in some locations even more.
"In many instances, not only do children have access to a nutritious meal or snack through the Summer Nutrition Program, but they also have summer exercise activities," said Texas Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples.
Staples added there are thousands of locations across the state. To find one go to www.summerfood.org or just call 2-1-1.
Several Northeast Texas schools are participating in the program. Once at the site, simply search your local city or county to find a participating school near you.
