Greenville – The Greenville City Council is considering allowing a local gun club to use the City of Greenville firing range.
The Council could vote to allow the Majors Gun Club to continue operating at the facility as one of the agenda items during Tuesday's regular session.
Greenville Police found itself without a gun range earlier this year, due to the construction on the city's new wastewater treatment plant, which was at the same location.
The Council agreed to purchase a gun range and 25 acres on County Road 2164, for $180,000.
The gun range was generating revenue and was projected to have a five-to-seven year payback.
Tuesday's council meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building downtown.
