Wednesday wreck kills Greenville resident

Greenville – Greenville resident Chris Mayo has died from injuries received following a one-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the 46-year-old Mayo died when the pickup he was driving ran into a tree. His vehicle reportedly left the roadway while traveling westbound on CR 2246, just off State Highway 34.

Mayo was said to have not been wearing his seat belt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Funeral services were pending as of Thursday.
