Commerce – Smoke testing will begin today on sewer lines in the City of Commerce.
The test, to be conducted by Hayter Engineering, will take place during regular business hours and will allow crews to check for leaks in the lines.
While the smoke is not harmful to people and pets, residents are urged to contact a plumber if they observe smoke in their homes so the source can be found. You're also urged to call if traces of smoke or its odor are detected where you live.
More information on the testing, which will last approximately two weeks, is available through the Public Works Department at 903-886-1152.
