Bonham Fire Chief fired

By Scott Harvey

Bonham – Bonham Fire Chief Bill Palya, who had spent the last five months on administrative leave, has been fired.

KXII-TV reports Palya was let go on November 30.

Back in May, allegations against the former fire chief were made by three employees. Those allegations have not been made public, but are serious enough that Fannin County District Attorney Richard Glazer plans to soon present findings on the matter to a Grand Jury.

The Bonham City Council will now begin the search for a new fire chief.

Palya had served with the city for nearly five years.
