– While road conditions are vastly improved from Monday, crews continue work to clear major roadways of snow and ice in the region.

TxDot has been on the job since the storm hit Sunday morning, and is continuing to work in 12-hour shifts until roadways are clear using snow plows, and distributing anti-icing and de-icing materials on roadways and bridges. Over the last two days, approximately 600 TxDOT personnel and over 350 pieces of equipment were put into use. Crews from as far away as Amarillo have assisted in the process.

In TxDot's Paris District, which spans nine counties, all major highways, with the exception of some bridges along State Highway 24 in Hunt County, are clear of any ice.

For information on Texas road conditions, call the Texas Road Condition and Travel Information Line (1-800-452-9292) or visit www.txdot.gov.

A number of school districts in the region will be starting late Tuesday. A complete list is available on the KETR homepage.
