Prison time ordered in negligent homicide

Tyler – A Kaufman County man will spend two years behind bars for the November 2009 hit and run of Hubert Oxendine.

44-year-old Jackie Ray Heath of Kemp had previously pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide. Heath ran over and killed Oxendine who, at the time was walking on the side of Hwy 274 in Tool in Henderson County.

Heath also received two years in the penitentiary for failure to stop and render aid and tampering with evidence.
