Cooper – A former Cooper resident has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of attempted receipt and possession of child pornography.
29-year-old Norman Varner is a registered sex offender, which could lead to a harsher punishment, if convicted. He faces up to 40 years in federal prison for the attempted receipt charge and up to 20 years for the possession charge.
The case is being investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, U.S. Marshals, the Texas Rangers and the Delta County Sheriff's Office.
