Residents cautioned during peak flu season

By Scott Harvey

– Area health departments are recommending now is the time for individuals to get vaccinated to prevent the spread of flu.

Dr. Rick Selvaggi with Live Oak Professional Center in Commerce says we're now into that peak time for becoming ill. He says there's never too many preventative measures you can take, as there are a number of ways to easily get sick this time of year, both with the flu and a cold.

We're all aware of the typical suggestions, to wash your hands and to cover your mouth when you cough. Dr. Selvaggi also encourages you limit your exposure to the elements should you need to be outside, especially during this latest winter storm.
